Kauai
Activities
Set
like a diamond in the middle of the Pacific, the "garden island"
of Kauai displays mountain top bogs and rain forests, deep canyons,
lush valleys, coral/algal reefs, and is ringed with the longest white
sandy beaches in the Hawaiian Islands. It's no wonder that this jewel
is a perfect destination for all travelers. Surfers, snorkelers, kayakers,
hikers, golfers, and lounge lizards alike enjoy the beauty and tranquility
of this special island. Located over 2500 miles from the nearest continent,
Kauai is the rise of where East meets West, where we find both peace
and adventure.

The
Na Pali Coast On the North shore of the island lies
the majestic Na Pali Coast whose razor peaks and verdant forests rise
vastly above the luminous blue water of the Pacific. This ancient
trail, the Kalalau trail, is the prime hike on the island, stretching
11 miles. For travelers preferring not to camp, this coastal splendor
can be experienced on a day hike as well. Kaua'i
Nature Tours offers educational oriented day hikes where
hikers learn about Kauai's geology, natural history, and flora &
fauna.
Tip: bring water and munchies, and spare your white canvas shoes
the journey, the mud will never come out.
Ke'e
Beach is located near the trailhead of the Kalalau
Trail and offers something for everyone. Great for a cool down after
hiking the trail. Good snorkeling and swimming, a reef for fishing,
and a protected cove for children to play.

Hanalei
(Crescent Bay) offers endless possibilities. In addition
to two miles of uninterrupted white sandy coastline, being truly one
of the most beautiful bays in all of Hawaii, this laid-back north
shore village offers colorful shops and terrific restaurants.
Start
your day with a brisk walk along the bay, and then hang out at the
Java Kai
café for a fresh cup of Hawaiian coffee and a
banana mac-nut waffle - whipped cream please.
And
when it's time for dinner… for curious blends of the freshest
fish & veggies combined with the flavors and textures of local
fruits and spices, Postcards
Café offers something special for your palate.
The food is as beautiful as the plantation style home it is served
in. Reservations are recommended.

Hanalei
Princeville,
originally coffee and sugar plantations, now holds the eye of golf
enthusiasts. The Prince course and the Makai course take full advantage
of the ocean bluffs, gorges, and natural rolling scenery that this
unique island has to offer.

Ranch Stables offers group rides through beautiful Kauai
countryside. They also offer kayak tours up a pristine mountain stream.
Both tours boast of secluded waterfalls for swimmers.
